About Checkers Online
Checkers Online lets you play a proper game of draughts with anyone, anywhere, in seconds — on the same gorgeous 3D wooden board as our single-player checkers, complete with a dusk garden setting and animated piece glides and captures. One player creates a room and gets a short code; the other joins with the code or an invite link and the match starts. Or hit quick match to be paired with a random opponent. Full English draughts rules apply: diagonal moves on the dark squares, mandatory captures, chained multi-jumps that hop square by square, and kings crowned on the far rank that move both ways. A per-move timer keeps games brisk, emoji reactions and quick chat keep them social, rematches alternate colours, and refreshing your browser drops you right back into the game. Free, no downloads, works on phones and desktops.
How to play Checkers Online
- 1Enter a name, then create a room, join a friend's code, or quick match.
- 2White moves first; pieces slide diagonally on the dark squares.
- 3Captures are mandatory — jump over an adjacent enemy into free space.
- 4Chain multi-jumps in a single turn when the board allows it.
- 5Reach the far side to crown a king, which moves both directions.
- 6Capture everything (or block all moves) to win the round.
Tips & strategy
- Control the centre — edge pieces have fewer capture threats.
- Because captures are forced, you can bait a jump to set up a double.
- Keep your back row intact early to deny easy kings.
- A single king beats scattered men — race for the crown late game.
