About Don't Look Online
Don't Look Online drops two players into the same brick labyrinth and lets you pick how it ends. In Star Race you are both prey: twelve stars are scattered through a maze built to be equally fair to both corners, and whoever grabs more of them in ninety seconds wins — you will hear your rival before you see them. In Hunt mode one of you IS the creature. The survivor has to collect three keycards and carry them back to the door they came in; the creature only has to touch them once. The survivor can sprint, but stamina runs out and the map only shows the creature once it is already close — while the creature's map only lights up when the survivor sprints, which turns every sprint into a decision. Roles swap on every rematch so nobody is stuck being the monster. Both players get the identical maze from the same room code, so neither of you gets an easier run. How to play Don't Look Online
- 1Create a room and share the link, or hit quick match for a random opponent.
- 2The host picks Star Race or Hunt before the round starts.
- 3Move with WASD or the arrow keys — A and D turn, W and S walk.
- 4Hold Shift to sprint. It drains stamina, and in Hunt mode it shows the creature exactly where you are.
- 5Star Race: grab more of the twelve stars than your rival before the clock runs out.
- 6Hunt: as the survivor, collect three keycards and get back to the door. As the creature, just touch them.
Tips & strategy
- Check the minimap before committing to a corridor — backtracking costs more than the detour.
- In Hunt mode, sprint in short bursts. A continuous sprint is a flare telling the creature where you are.
- As the creature, cut corners instead of chasing directly — you are steadier, not faster.
- In Star Race, go for the cluster your rival is furthest from, not the nearest single star.
- Save stamina for the run home; the last stretch with all three cards is when it gets caught.
Frequently asked questions
Do both players get the same maze?
Yes. Both browsers build the identical maze from the room code, and the star positions are checked to be equally far from each player's spawn, so neither corner is the good corner.
What is the difference between Star Race and Hunt?
In Star Race you are both survivors competing to collect more stars in ninety seconds. In Hunt, one player controls the creature and the other has to collect three keycards and escape. Roles swap every rematch.
Can I play it on my phone?
Yes — there is an on-screen thumb pad with the same turn-and-walk controls as the keyboard version, and it runs in a mobile browser with nothing to install.
